eelskin jigs
Just wondering when people talk about eelskin jigs are they referring to a weighted jig that has a hole in the head of the jig that allows water into the eel? I've never actually seen one but was hoping someone could explain to me how one is made or where one can purchase the jig. Any information about eelskin jigs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

RE:eelskin jigs
Tobias,
You are right on the concept. They seem tough to come by, but The Surfcaster does have them listed in the 2000 catalog. It doesn't appear that anyone has a mold to make the or at least they won't give them up. I have never fished them, so I don't even know where to get skins. Good luck wiht your quest <img src="/Images/Happy_Face.gif"><!--e1--> Fishpart |

Try some of the shops around the Canal--the Ditch seems to be the only place where eel skins have any remaining use. Macos and Red Top sell the skins, and Red Top(definitely) and Roys II (maybe) have the jigheads.

Thanks for the response guys. I'll be down at the canal this weekend and I'll plan on stopping at those tackle stores.
