Rod repair

The guides on the rod I have now are broken (well most are) and (was told) are too small, they also need to be respaced as there are 13 of them on the rod. I would like to have all of the guides stripped off, respaced and new one put on, does anyone know what the average cost would be for somthing like this?

I do not know what the blank is as I bought this used with the seller not knowing what type of blank it was.

Thanks

That's no surprise, if he had 13 guides put on it

How long, and what color is the blank? Gloss finish or flat matte? That'll be a clue to who made it.

Re-wraps can run from about $8 to more than $20 a guide depending on the builder. Some builders charge to remove the old guides, too. That could run into a little bit of money with a 13 guide rod.

I posted in the other forum where you asked.
it is quicker for a builder to build a new rod than to rewrap an old so the price goes up.
My sugestion is you learn to wrap.
it will make a good project.

That would be WAY cool if I could learn to wrap a rod. Are there any local classes up in northern mass?
