Q's about Yak Fishing

just got my 1st yak for fishing.. just had a few Q's if anyone has answers..just trying to figure out best approach to best results..

what size rod is easiest to use ? i was thinking 7 or 8 footer would be best to handle

anyone rig up a depthfinder? i plan on getting one, any recommendations on model, type, or installation..

how about spinning or conventional? i'm thinking of trolling with my conventional..

what to wear ? i hope to get out in the next couple weeks, do you mostly wear thermals, with waders, etc.. or wetstuit.. or just boots..

thanks for any answers..

Yak Fishing

Give the above a read, it's a good introduction to fishing from a kayak.

Also feel free to email Joel, there's an email address at the end of the article. He's done installs on a lot of kayaks; depthfinders, GPS, rod holders, etc.

He's done VERY well trolling tube 'n worm off the back of that yak, usually on coventional gear. He carries spin gear as well.
