Scale Certifications

They keep limitin' our net access here at work, so I figured I'd go this route.

Anyone got any information on who, where, how long (turn around time), and how much to send a 50 lb Lip Lock scale out to be serviced and certified?
Mine has been sittin' in the truck since the fall, and according to it, I way about 6 pounds (hung it from a nail and hung on it with a rope)

Need to get it ready for the season.

Info appreciated.

the IGFA certifies scales but you may want to clean yours first.

You need to eat more!

Just check the yellow pages in your area for scales or weights and measures. Most of them will certify a scale.

I don't know about servicing a liplock scale. I doubt anyone would service it but if you get it working , they will certify them for a fee.

A good way to do it cheap is get a known weight and just check the scale with it. If you care about ounces accuracy , you need something better than a liplock anyway.

And don't forget that is way any decent sized fish on that lip-lock scale you've killed it. So don't think you're doind something good by weighing it and letting it go, it'll only feed the crabs.
