Who has painted there deck??

I am in bad need of doing the deck over in my boat!! The deck is solid and I just need to paint it with something that will last!!!!
I was going to have it LineX but they want $800+ and thats to much for me!!
So I am wondering whats the best epoxy or paint that I can do my self??

Thanks

I've used the Interlux 2 part Epoxy but you need non-skid because it's slippry when wet. I've also used a product called Duracoat http://www.nonslipcoating.com/anticorrosive.htm

It comes in many colors and hides lots of sins while add a great nonskid surface.

Good luck and clean well and paint fast!

Thanks! I think I will be able to get away with one gal?? says 1 gal will do 2 coats on 60 sq feet. so with out painting the floor tank covers I belive I will beable!
Not bad $119 gal and $15 shipping $135 vs $800+ I will do it!!

Thanks MTC

do it with those little 3" soft foam rollers. great for two part stuff.

Use a light color... it gets hot in the sun. I did my old 22' Mako 2 coats with 1 gallon. How big is the boat? My25' Chris Craft was a strech on 1 Gallon but it has a huge cockpit.....

20 foot Wellcraft V20, Yea I have a white and dark gray right now. Was thinking sand color or light gray to keep the glare down?

Sand... The Grey gets hot

go to town paint and get yourself some laytex porch and deck enamel..custom mix any color you want...it's cheap and ware's like iron on fiberglass decks. been using it for years.....fish blood, mudd, ,salt, bird poo wash right of with alittle bleech and joy.

Thanks MTC!! I was thinking the same thing!! Was looking at the cream color they have, not as dark as the sand??
I will be ordering in the next day or so. I really wondering what color it should be??
I will let you know!!

Thanks Cape!!
I thought of that also. But I need to fix a few small spots in the deck (screw holes and such) and really wanted something to seal up from the water.

I did it on a Pearson 30 (sailboat) that I restored - used interlux interthane plus in Hateras off white. Detailed - Step by step notes from the project are HERE under the NONSKID section.

Sorry. Everytime I see this thread title I can't help but think of that sketch they did on Blue Collar TV!

Moe...hit adap or is napa in orleans..they have waterproof bondo...called fiberfill..you can get it with or without the fiber in it..works great filling screw hole's and the like. Easy to mix and sand.
