NESN has winter stripah fishing on the Thames right now. Filmed March 4

TheSpecialist 03-26-2005 06:35 PM

I was watching it, I think I saw a certain rubber maker on there.....

Slipknot 03-26-2005 06:57 PM

I thought I saw Bob holding a decent holdover.

I definately saw the couple from Orange,Mass.

Finally caught the show for the first time, I like it.

Slingah 03-26-2005 07:10 PM

Squid kids Dad 03-26-2005 07:14 PM

Slipknot 03-26-2005 07:24 PM

tattoobob 03-26-2005 08:02 PM

The best fishing show out there, I caught the show it was good to see stripers and bent rods again

TheSpecialist 03-26-2005 10:51 PM

Hood and sunglasses yup I firmly believe it was him.

Slip what did you think about the Lakers on Wachusett, looks like fun huh??

Got Stripers 03-26-2005 10:53 PM

Damn I missed it, it would have been interesting to see, but I don't recall being down there when there was a camera crew. But who knows, if the bite was on, I'd have hardly noticed.

Slipknot 03-26-2005 11:37 PM

must have been a poser then
It was a Friday so I guess you were at work GS
It did look like you, only flashed for a quick moment.

Notaro 03-26-2005 11:41 PM

Damn, I missed it again. What channel number is OTW on (NESN)?

TheRattBoy 03-26-2005 11:41 PM

beachwalker 03-27-2005 07:42 AM

Mr. Sandman 03-27-2005 09:06 AM

(related but OT) OTW caused me to buy a DVR.
The best thing I have done for fishing shows is get a DVR...

No more missed shows, no more commericals. :humpty:

That spot is about 5 minutes from my house. Supposed to open April 1st but it still has a ton of ice.

I think (not positive) that the man fishing with the OTW crew was Bob Sampson who writes for the magazine. He has had a few articles on holdover fishing on the Thames. He also writes for the Insider stories section.

Anyone know if they ever do shows on shore fishing? Everytime I catch it it's always boat fishing. To be honest, that kinda gets boring after awhile.

That show they got off the boats and fished the docks. The rest of the show they were shore fishing from Wachusett. They also say they will be covering the MV derby from shore. :boots:

Itsa good show for sure. I caught some of it while they were fly fishing for bluefin tuna. Watching a tuna blitz was pretty sweet! The one thing that annoys me about the show though....The gay music they have in the backround alot. Sounds like some lame ass rock/ porn music. Ditch the stupid tunes and the show will be a million times better

Sandbartender 03-27-2005 09:14 PM

North East Angling did a show on surfcasting last week. They walked the NJ shore for blues and small stripers. Nothing special but it was different.

Uncle Matt 03-27-2005 09:18 PM

Skip you must of been in my livingroom because I said the samne thing. At least turn that crap down. The blitz was so insane I would of liked to of just listened to the fish crashing through the water. Good show tonight though. I was surprised that GBFT weighed 490 pounds. I guess I not be a good candidate to work the weight guessing booth at the circus.

Al Hadfield 03-28-2005 05:31 AM

I agree, overall a good program. I also agree, way too much loud “music”. Last nights giant tuna spot was interesting but the ear insulting “music” spoiled it. More talk mentioning details and what is going on would be much better. I’m glad to see others think the same.

But…any fishing show is better than no fishing show.

Al

I agree that the host should have been more informative about what was going on with the GBFT as you couldnt see anything. Northeast angling had a good show yesterday on bft off of point judith. I believe it was Mike Neto.

OTW TV

With each show it gets better and better. Just like the magazine. I wish them well.
