anyone know anything about helin? helene? rods?
 

I cam into posession of a Helin? Helene? rod yesterday that my grandfather used 40 years ago.

It is about 10' long, and all steel eyes. It seems to be in pretty good shape...
I got the reel too, a squidder, that I dont think is that old.. but prolly a good 25-30 years.

Anyway, since I am not sure of the spelling of the name, anyone recognize it? Any history on them? I am toying with trying to use it for fun with the old reel, but I am more inclined to just hang it on the wall as a memento/antique..

could it be a "Helix" rod...not sure if they were around that long ago
