Wachusett Reservoir
 

Does anyone know when Wachusett Reservoir is scheduled to open? There's still way too much ice for it to open this Saturday.

I am heading down there this afternoon to look around. Right down the street. I do not believe it will be opening this weekend. Try giving B&A Tackle in West Boyalston a call. Or Anglers and Archers in WB. Those two shops should know.

A lot of the ponds around my way are still totally covered.

I spoke with a EPO there about a week ago. At that time, ice was still over 1 foot thick on the route 110 side. He told me he expects it to open about two weeks late.

Todays paper said not tomorrow , and it also said NO ICE FISHING MATT :)

Just got back from a little hike. Headed over to Bob T and Uncle Matts neck of the woods. There are signs that say the res is scheduled to open April 9 next Saturday. They also said that there will be another posting if they need to postpone this opening. It will be close for next Sat. The entire res is pretty much covered except by the causeway near the old stone church. All the feeder streams were the smelt run are raging right know.
