It was another great day on the bay today. :)

I wonder how many fish were in these waters? :D :D

Anyone know where I was?

Habs,

You got it!

Rome Point is a jewel of spot...great coves, fantastic points and bars, a river outlet and lots of fish and shellfish.

Sweet shots Mike, what kid of camera do you use for your digital pics?

Clammer 12-03-2001 10:07 PM

Mike, I believe the second shot is the outflow at Bissel Cove !!;)

Clamdigger,

It would take a "Clambo" or a clamdigger to figure that out...right you are:

Clamdigger,

Here's the picture of littleneck heaven:

John,

I use a Nikon CoolPix 995 with a variety of lenses.

Arby 12-04-2001 07:48 AM

Fish_Eye, first, being from the NJ Shore, I demand to know where is the sand on that beach? ;)

Second, Nikon Coolpix Cameras are great. I have the Coolpix 880. The color is so much warmer than a regular SLR. I have an old Canon AE-1 Program. There is no comparison between the pictures. Plus in Photoshop, I can fix the picture anyway I want it.

Rome Point has always intrigued me, just haven't had a chance to fish it yet....

Clammer 12-04-2001 11:55 AM

Mike, love to get in there without all the [controls]

If people would only leave the the undersize !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

schoolie monster 12-04-2001 02:37 PM

Is that the equivalent of a bleep? [controls] Mike, I'm shocked :)

Those are some beautiful shots. Where is Rome Point? Is that Rhody?

Fish_Eye 12-04-2001 03:07 PM

Schoolie,

Yes, it's just south of Wickford, RI.

Clammer 12-04-2001 10:44 PM

Schoolie, what I meant is the state makes rules, regulations, management decisions, etc and many times they screw things up//////

If you wanted to know something about fishing and wanted the best possible answer, Would you ask the clerk at k mart? or Mr real fisherman///
Who do you think proably knows more about shellfish, the digger on the water for 40 years , or the book smart guy behind the desk///////////

Example:: A few years ago the state came up with this bright idea of transplanting 250000 lbs of Quahogs from the Providence River to a area sectioned off outside of Wickford to be dug up at a later time!!!!!!!!!!

What really happen:: [1] they transplanted 250000 lbs of chowders the lowest on the scale of value ::
{2] in a sectioned off area, you don;t have to be a rocket engineer to locate them//
[3] they but them in a area of hard bottom, results they were unable to borrow into the bott
end result///they sat on the bottom just sooner or later going to die, but no, someone[s] who thought about it, thanks to the markers, and some skiff dredges, a few nights towing dredges took care of this situation rather quickly
the state was amazed when they opened this area and there wasn/t any product//////////////

some what /kinda the logic being used with the Stripers, state by state, size by size, commercial ,reconational, nets ,traps rod/reel/ by catch///////// yet the same fish swims in all these different waters/////////////////////////////////

Clamdigger,

That's why everyone needs to support the Recreational Fishing Alliance and become members.

Mr. Sandman 12-05-2001 11:42 AM

This weather is unreal....I put away my gear to early damnit!

I am afraid to drive down to the beach because I may see huge schools of feeding fish within casting range....
