Couldn't belive I saw this happen. I watched a Comorant struggle with a trout at JP Pond, and an hour later it was floating in one of the coves. What a way to go. Cheers to the trout!
|
I am all "choked" up! :rotf3:
|
that trout deserves the trout medal of honor.
|
:laugha: That's great. I wish piping plovers would give that a shot.
|
Talk about being stuffed :conf: :rotfl:
Poor bastage...didn't realize what he was biting off.... :rotfl: :jump: |
:scream:
|
That bird had eyes bigger than it's stomach :conf:
|
wow... did you pull the trout out to safety or was he done for
My son and I saw one eating a Winter Flounder the other day when we were in the Barrington River.. the fish was small but a big one for the bird.. a couple of flips and he had it down and he was gone
|
very awsome.

Kommorant 0 - Trout 0
Wild Picture... |
Almost as good as this one. Talk about eyes bigger than his stomack!

That baby thinks he is at a buffet.
|
Great pics. I once witnessed a Commorant come up with a 8 inch lobster, only to have a seagull swoop down and snatch it right out of its mouth.
It is good to see that those over-abundant birds, who have no natural enemies, can be defeated by something! |
Man...I got a sudden craving for breast milk!
That kid better be careful or he will wind up like the comorant! :bl: |
Commorants
Seriously, I think they should open a Hunting Season on those Commorants every couple of years or so. There are just too many of them now. I wonder if they would taste like duck?
|
I think they should have open season on..... nevermind!
:wiggle: |

Yeah, seals Eben...keep me "abreast" of further developments. :uhuh:

I was at Long Pond in plymouth a couple years back... We had caught a decent sized rainbow.. it was sitting on a stringer on the side of the ramp where we were fishing, comorant came up and took it all.. This was not a small fish... The comorant proceeded to start paddling away attempting to swallow it... It was failing pretty bad because of the stringer and the size.... a guy in a boat was lucky enough to net it and extract the fish...
The bird lived, its pretty funny now, but I was pretty pissed at the time. |
