Sewing needle

I am looking to set up some large ledgerunners I have with a tandem hook set up. Does anyone know where I can pick up a large sewing needle like the offshore guys use to sew up dead baits? Looking for ideas.

Upholstery needles at craft store

make your own out of a coat hanger and some spit.

Take a coat hangar and cut it to the length needle you want, pound one end flat on a workshop vise or something very solid, next on the flat end drill a hole into it for the size line you're tying with, last just sharpen the tip on a grinder.

You now have your needle!

Or....if you are lazy you can buy a rigging needle at most saltwater tackle store. I know i bought one for rigging eels at Quaker Lane for about 4 bucks a couple of years ago.
