It was rough there today with good sized swells running. It smelled fishy as I dunked my head thru the line up at second beach this morning. A lot of weed in the corner and silted up. Should be worth trying the next couple of days.

As of today, I'm pretty sure that anywhere in Narragansett Bay as well as the many of the South facing shores of RI have fresh fish. If you throw a 3" or smaller Storm or Tsunami around for a while you're almost sure to catch one.

Newport specifically has had fish for at least 3 weeks, with the best bite usually occuring in the evening, regardless of the tide.
