I spent yestereday afternoon picking up what was left of Wessagussett's docks off the beach. Storm did lots of damage. We lost one sail boat that ended up in Quincy. Took these shots next to Old Salt Marina in Hingham.

Boat is still in the driveway, and fine, but the freaking wind took off a chunk of my roofing. Got some water in the attic and spent a couple of hours keeping the damage to a minimum.

I've got a real bad streak of luck going lately at the house.

Maybe this should had gone in the Grumpy Farts Forum..

Glad your boat is OK....

As of this morning, the Captain J is still on the beach next to Old Salt. Looks like the other boat was removed yesterday.

they cut em lose at high tide during the storm and let them wash up. They pulled one boat yesterday, .. They were getting pounded at the dock.... I saw the sailboat in Quincy, looked out the window and expected at least one boat against the seawall, like there usually is after a good blow and saw her on her side in Germantown.. Plenty of floats from the underside of the docks still on the seawall as well....It was kickin up pretty hard, lost a little roof but thats what happens when you live on the watah. :hihi:

Guess the I/O shop is gonna have some work to do this week. :hihi:

I ran down to the dock during the blow and tied some extra lines on my dock-neighbors boat. (he lives on the mainland) . The boat (stern into the wind) was surging hard on the foreward spring lines which were acting like two rubber bands and rubbing on a couple parts of the boat. I was able to get a couple stern lines on there to take some of the heat off of the looong spring lines. I am amazed how people tie up their boats sometimes.

Was planning on splashing my boat last Fri...waited till today. She is in now. Had to sweep out a couple bushels of pine needles and branches, but no damage. Wind seems to be dying...only blowing 25 now.

I hope to sneak out mid week for a test run/fish trip.

So the yard cut the boats loose?
Or did the owners lose their minds and do this?
