How about this for 300 bucks.............
|
no joke. the ol'sandsled needs work. like body work and stupid stuff like a muffler and a cable for the gas pedal. its sticky.... and windshild wiper motor and junk......Hay But wait thats not it, If you rush right now U 2 can have the BassMASTER sand sled complete with leakin tanks and oil leak, but it runs good and cleen:D
|
Grats on the sled......... May want to look a the Surfcaster catalog and note the license plate rod holder. I am sure it would be easy to make out of some scraps you might find lying around.

Good work crabber... Chosing what you want for rod racks can be harder than deciding on a rod & reel outfit sometimes :confused: ...
Are you going to want them external, do you want them just mounted on the front of the truck, in the bed, runnning them through the rear slider (sucks in the rain) or all of the above. You'll need to know what your longest rod that doesn't break down or the longest rod period. If you're running the beach chasing moving fish (always fun during the day), you don't wan't to lose time breaking down or reassembling gear. You also don't want to damage gear on the roof top going down some tight roads to the beaches. I can't tell you how many plugs have been found in the high brush and trees on the old road to the fisherman's lot at Wasque on the Vineyard ;) :D but I've gotten a few plugs that way before... Do you want to do your own work? Are you worried about losing truck bed space, what if you have a livewell in the back... Yada,yada,yada... |

Red,
It doesnt get much simpler than this. Keeps your rods readily available if your running the beach, out of the way if your on the go, and keeps sand out of the reels. The only bad part is....it's not made out of polished stainless steel and costs an arm and a leg. :D Hope this helps......total costs $20 tops! |
yeah baby!!!! chock blocks, pvc, and plywood... think we're on to something here.. thanks everyone for your suggestions. i'll try to make us proud with whatever i end up doing.

A Tattoo, what about Me............

who the hell is posting this stuff it aint me....

RedCrabber;
If ya dont mind drilling holes in ya bumper; I bought some 2" OD Aluminum tubing for about 10 clams... cut them, drilled em and bolted them to my bumper... added a reel grabber from the surfcaster and was good to go... two rod holders under 30 bucks, and looks halfway decent... 'hound |
