thaw them out and wash the slime off, then run your fingers down it and break the vertabre (sp) that way they will move nice. if you don't wanna rig em or skin em. Hook em thru the head and lash it around the mouth. That way you can lay into the cast and they are less likey to cast off

A little time spent rigging up some eelbobs kept in a kosher salt brine in the freezer ,will give you a nice " real" lure to use . ( and a good way to recycle the dead eels ). See DZ'S article on Tattoo's site >http://tattoostackle.com/eelbob_dz.php

Got my largest fish last fall on a dead eel that i had frozen and thawed a half dozen times.
