Ok Guys my first plugs are done.
Living in an apartment in Manhattan
No lathes just determination, a cordless drill, razor knife and a few dowels and I did it.
Wife loves when I take over the dining room table for this stuff.

Hey, Its a fat needlefish, uhh, a bottlefish!!! Nice work and you used the drill, eh? How did you do it?

And your wife didn't ming you using the X-Mas tinsel wrapped on the tail hook? ;)

Hey that's pretty sweet for a first try. I just finished carving up my plastic prototypes with just a jig saw for the outline and then mostly a sharp utility knife. On soft pine the utility knife works pretty darn well, you just have to be careful you don't work too fast or suddenly youv'e just split the bait were you didn't want it split :(.
