Question (?)

If you were going after bluefish, would you use a balloon booper and monofiliment line (40 or 50 lb test) without any leader tied tied directly to a treble hook that has a live mackerel on it?

Would this set up be better for bluefish or striped bass?

Fishcop - Welcome to S-B...

WTH is a balloon "Booper" ? A bobber?

As for bluefish, there is not much they will turn down (though on rare occasion they can be as fussy as bass for anybody but Clammer).
What are you trying to do? Why would you waste a live mackeral on lowly bluefish? If I had live macs I would target bass on ledges, with live bait or circle hooks, and if you really, really wanted a bluefish, one might be obliging enough to stop by,,

doooood - give me all your live macs and I will show you how to catch blues until you are sick of them.
