we had a "White Entertainment Awards" show??? :rollem: I can pretty much guess! You know....an awards show where all of the nominees were white! No african americans, no asians, no indians, nothing but good old fashioned white folk! Hmmmmm.....do you think that would go over without a hitch? :rolleyes: Then why is it alright to have a "Black Entertainment Awards" show????? :huh: Or a "Black Entertainment Television" station???? What would happen if there was a station just for white tv shows???? Hmmmm....I am gonna bet someone would have an issue with that! :rollem:

Eben...if you think this is a racist thread then you are missing the point! This is about political correctness being one sided......this is about discrimination being a word that can only be used by those who are not white. I have a real problem with the fact that there can be a "Black Entertainment Awards"! If there were a "White Entertainment Awards" there would be all kinds of cries of discrimination from all sectors! :mad:

Black programming like BET and the Black Entertainment Awards were created because the mainstream programming wasn't providing content for an interested audience.

There are plenty of people on this board who were alive during segregation, it really wasn't that long ago. You can't just ignore history...

Can black people be racist...sure they can, but until we've gone a lot further to really weed out racisim overall, just accept that things arn't always going to be equal for either side.

Well in case my comments were deemed racist. I appoligize, certainly not my intention. I am far from a "racist" nor do I stereotype anyone, sex,race, sexual orientation. My best friend is gay, and I have brought the same subject up to him several times. My point is, by having programs and phone books and groups that strictly target and are exclusive to races or sexually orientated groups is racism. IMHO this only draws the line deeper in the sand. Personally, I try not to see the line and often cross it, despite popular opinion... "One love......." to all my brothers of another mother.....

Then why call it "Black" why not call it alternative.

We don't call FOX or NBC the "White" Channel.
