An article / photo appeared here yesterday as well:
Boston Channel: MV Tiger Shark

* Unbelievable fish.....

I saw it on the news. that was a big , mean looking sucker. I'm glad i never ran into something like that while diving!!

i omnce saw what i beleived was a big tiger shark once while sailing through the race on my way to newport from Guilford CT. It looked hurt as it was swimming sluggishly near the surface in that strong current area. hurt or not , I made sure to stay seated in the cockpit and off the deck for about 10 miles away!!

Redsoxticket 07-21-2005 08:17 AM

The crew was not able to enter into the tournament because being 6 min. late but they sure have the bragging rights.

Does anyone know if the guy that landed the Tiger have ESPN on his boat?

Come on Sept 12 - I cannot wait to see this tourney on TV

Piemma -- that's the first thing I thought when I read this thread. The other night I was at that place on one of those dark, foggy, "spooky" nights and all of a sudden a 4 foot piece of floating wood being pushed by a swell bumped me pretty hard in the leg and scared me out of my waders.

mrmacey 07-21-2005 07:28 PM

LOL JoeP

I remember going with red crab on one of SB legs bob says try a chunk so I did through it out there Bam fish on thought I had the winner this thing was giving a tug too dark to tell what it was then that feeling hit I started walking back to shore make sure I was out the water before getting that thing close to me sure enough a dog fish.

Piemma, dont laugh, I got an email yesterday from a friend that lives down there, there was a possble shark sighting Wednesday off the bars, stuck around for 20 minutes

I know they were on his boat last year, it was the Castafari right?
Maybe there was a camera crew on there again this year.

MakoMike 07-22-2005 06:16 AM

From what I hear the ESPN crew had thewir own boat this year so they could run to whomever was hooked up. Problem was they were over 40 miles away fro Castafari when he hooked up and the decided that it was too far to run. True or internet rumor? I don't know.

striperboy3754 07-22-2005 07:43 AM

I cant belive they caught that in MA... Its bigger then jaws... they should make a movie... Off with its head :behead:..Id like one of its teath..Imagin a shark that big going through the canal :shocked: :shocked: :eyes:
