Breakaway clips and bombers etc.

anyone else think the breakaways kill the action on bombers, mambos and others?? seems to me since I switched the "wiggle" is hindered a bit. any comments??

I never use em' just tie direct to a leader.
although the tatoo tackle website says to use them on swimmers.

Slingah 07-21-2005 04:08 PM

no problem with them for me

riverrat2 07-21-2005 09:05 PM

I feel the same way slingah. So for my lighter plugs I take the 80lb berkley snap swivels with the barrels on them and cut the barrels off with wire cutters. Then I just use the clips, they work great and don't mess with the wiggle. I use them a lot with all my plugs but lately I have been using breakaway with wood. Next time your in the shop Ill show yah

Larry,

If you are having the horrible year that you report each and every minute of the day on this site then how can you be making a comment like this...

Hey guys, I have no problem with the breakaway clips on my bombers...and by the way, have I told you that I just can not catch a fish from shore to save my life... :buds:

big guy, maybe it is the clips that are keeping you down

By the way...I have been catching on Mambos with breakaway clips without problem

I removed the splitrings from my bombers and mambos. Slingah try giving that a shot and see what you think, if you don't notice a difference you can always put them back on.

basswipe 07-21-2005 11:22 PM

I've found removing the splitring from Bombers and Mambos when using the breakaways to be advantageous.I get plenty of fish to hit them I just can't seem to keep them on.See the "I'm cursed" thread.I was using the above mentioned plugs.
