Patriots Ted Johnson Retires

 First Bruschi, and now Ted Johnson.....damn.....Johnson was my favorite linebacker....hell of a tough guy.....great career and a true champion....he wil be missed.....not good signs for the Pats repeating IMO..........

The Dad Fisherman 07-28-2005 11:17 AM

Ouch!!! That hurts. That guy was awesome at plugging up the holes

rwilhelm 07-28-2005 11:32 AM

What's up with that? He had a good season last year.

Homerun04 07-28-2005 11:45 AM

His statement said he can no longer ignore the short and long term impact on his health due to successive concussions......hope he is alright.

Uncle Matt 07-28-2005 12:09 PM

I'm sure it was something he has been thinking about but I wish he had said something earlier though. Full squad practices start tomorrow. It's gonna be a tough void to fill.

A couple more key players leave or retire and we may start to look like the Raiders...

With all the linebackers signed this off season, it's as if they knew . . . . . . . .

GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!

BrianS 07-28-2005 01:13 PM

They probably DID know

Ted was a quiet leader. He will be sorely missed. Definitley a throwback player.

Mike P 07-28-2005 02:11 PM

Yeah, it must really suck to be 10 deep at linebacker, huh?

My freakin' Giants can't even put 3 good ones on the field at one time  :wall:

Squid kids Dad 07-28-2005 05:00 PM

Thanks for the memories Ted..
It was reported this afternoon that his Doctors would not give him clearance to play anymore.. :crying:

fishsmith 07-28-2005 08:10 PM

Now he's got the rest of the summer to catch up on romance novels. :lm:
He was awesome and will be missed, one of the rocks this team was built on. What a career...and the timing couldn't be better.
It is nice to see those boys on RT1 staying a step ahead.

GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raider Ronnie 07-28-2005 08:17 PM

Here we go,
You guys are starting early with the excuses for when the Raiders come to town and kick their asses!!! :hihi:

Squid kids Dad 07-28-2005 11:45 PM

Poor Raider Ronnie....Getting his hopes up high already... :laughs: GP PATS..
