I was on a river in SE MA yesterday, and wished I had some chicken on a string, saw some nice bloocrabs.... a lot of twinks too.

BrianS 08-14-2005 08:16 AM

nothing like a little rancid chicken on a string. :)

this place i was at was loaded with crabs of all kinds... some eels, and a ton of chubs...

it was fun just watching too!

What are the rules on licensing for blue crabs? Do you use traditional crab traps toa catch them or other methods?

BrianS 08-14-2005 10:42 AM

some twine
a bucket
a net
and some chicken

all you need.

jbapinoy 08-15-2005 08:08 AM

Do you need to have a license for blue crabs?

BrianS 08-15-2005 08:35 AM

i dont beleive so.
never had in the past

but thats for lines.. im sure someone can verify, but i think that if you use traps the rules are different?

i might take a ride this afternoon to see if i cant find a few more.. :)
i dont eat them, but my grandfather loves them and cant really get out there anymore.
