Dogfish in the river?

Fished the entrance to the Westport River Satruday evening and to my surprize we were catching dogfish.

I did not realize they would be in this area. Some blues mixed in. All after dark on chunks.

Is this typical? Hope not, they are a pain.

Clear evening, nice temps and shooting stars. Perfect evening except the dogs.

WJ I have been fishing the islands most of the summer and doing very good but Sunday night I did not feel like making the run over so I fished Westport to Dumpling Rock Datrmouth and got dogs all the way. Even got dogs at Allens pond with the water moving out fast :exp: Did get a few small bass but its back to the islands for me. :faga:

where and when dont ya catch dogs .seems like ya catcha the bastards everthing you do these days.its pretty bad when your fishing for giants and they eat the live bluefish right of the hook, and ya reel it up and have a dogfish on the hook.

Leave it to DMF to protect the most abundant fish in the water!! :realmad:
