I'm tellin ya it was Just too funny. I'm pretty bored of stripers, I've never seen so many in a yr in my life so we been crabbin and stuff but that made the day.

BrianS 09-06-2005 08:12 PM

so you just grabbed it?
was it sick? trapped in a shallow?

cool none the less.

i did something similar while catching frogs.. it was like a 3lb trout though..ended up being kind of sick

Hope you don't live in Mass ;)

(because netting stripers is illegal, unless you're landing one after catching it on a hook and line :rtfm: )

jsullivan 09-07-2005 07:13 AM

it was released immediatly. it bolted from the bullrushes when he was scoopin a blue and he netted it.

Saltheart 09-07-2005 08:01 AM

Nice One. Some guys work many months to get one so big. Some guys have them run into their nets! :) Unbeleiveable.

jsullivan 09-07-2005 08:07 AM

eh blue crabs taste better anyway. I just thought the look on his face was priceless. In all honesty I have never see a yr with so many fish, theres never a bad day on the watter its driven me to start to fish for different species. fluke, tuna, etc..

codfeesh 09-07-2005 10:06 AM

hey j sulli ,how the blue crabbing been where you are.over here in westport ,ma its been slow slow slow???

jsullivan 09-07-2005 11:10 AM

unreal to be honest
loads of them im verry active in the hunt though I work for them and to find spots

codfeesh 09-07-2005 05:33 PM

so i guess you use a spot and stalk method huh?them things are fast swimmers care to elaborate alittle about your technique?we got a spot where we catch them going under a narrow bridge and net them as they come by with the tide.but that spot is way up cape.here in the westport river were i live weve been trying ring nets with not that great results.

jsullivan 09-07-2005 09:31 PM
