"The Susan Anne was built in 1964 as the vessel Prince Nova. The Prince Nova previously operated between Caribou, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island carrying vehicles and passengers between these two locations. Cross Sound Ferry purchased the Prince Nova in 1998, and the vessel underwent a complete rebuild involving extensive modifications at Thames Shipyard and Repair Company in New London, Connecticut. These modifications include new passenger cabins, hydraulic lift decks for automobiles, renewed engine room systems, new electrical equipment, and improvements to the propulsion system.
The efficient "round bilge" hull design enables the Susan Anne to cruise at a speed of 15 knots making it the fastest auto ferry in the fleet along with the vessel, New London. The Susan Anne makes the crossing between Orient Point and New London in about one hour and fifteen minutes. The Susan Anne is the third largest vessel in the fleet behind the John H. and the Cape Henlopen able to accommodate 80 autos and 840 passengers" |
Cape henlopan
Cape Henlopen was formerly a troop carrier and saw time on D'day in Normandy.

Hey Professor,
What did you get for a camara? I am in the market myself and thought I might pick up the Canon powershot A95 based on the little bit of reseach I have done. I can't believe how many models there are to choose from. Even when you narrow the seach by 3-4 criteria, (pixels, zoom, functions, $$$), there are still 20 to choose from! Anyone have any insight? Thanks |
