Strange request

I am looking for a few old style wiffle ball bats. The new ones are way too flimsy. I need the ones that are made of hard plastic and have the word "wiffle Ball" or "wiffle" or "wiffle bat" stamped on the barrel in all caps like this... W I F F L E B A L L. Will trade plugs or cash.

Canalman 09-14-2005 01:41 PM

ummm.... yeah  :D

I play in a lot of wiffleball tournaments. You have to be a tad insane but if the shoe fits. We've been nationally ranked twice 5th and 11th. I lost my last "old school" wiffle ball bat this year and I need a new crop. So yea I'm serious :D

Canalman 09-14-2005 01:43 PM

already checked ebay. Just look in your garages and sheds I bet more of you have them than you think. They are not more than 10 or 15 years old.

reelecstasy 09-14-2005 01:43 PM

I'll look, i have had a few for years so maybe so....I'll let cha know

Canalman 09-14-2005 01:44 PM

Excellent :btu:

Clammer 09-14-2005 03:34 PM

AND they are yellow & before that they were actually wooden --much narrower than the yellow one /use to play cork ball with it /Tuff
I guess tooooooooooo many kids gut slamed with the wooden one

Canalman 09-14-2005 04:03 PM

half ball

Sorry to highjack your thread here, but growing up in the city I played a lot of half ball. You would paint the strike zone on the school wall. Then you would take a pimple ball and cut it half (anybogy remember pimple balls?) Your bat was a half a broomstick and it was THE after school game 40 some odd years ago.......... :D

Clammer 09-14-2005 07:46 PM

Swede // the pink ball ?????

How about [[OUTS}} :spin:

Anybody wth a new Mc Gregor hard ball was king of the neighborhood for the year:hihi:

Then after the cover got knocked off we would tape it with the old cloth electric tape and use it the next year.:hihi:

LIfe was good. :D

Canalman,

Is this the one you're looking for?

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...goods&v=glance

If you search amazon, there is also a case of them with the balls for around $35.

Jay Dog 09-14-2005 08:21 PM

Canalman the wiffleball company is headquartered in Shelton Connecticut and here's the phone 203 924-4643 they may have some old stuff lying around you can work a deal for.

JohnR 09-14-2005 08:34 PM

I remember in JP we used to play PIG - anyonr remember that? Specialist?

partsjay 09-14-2005 08:54 PM

I play a ton of wiffleball.....played in a couple tourneys this year......want to get a game in? Played in the NEWA tourney this spring and got it handed to us in the playoffs....have a strike zone....the whole deal...let me know we'll play ya...Jay ( Backyard Superstars ) :uhuh:

Bass Babe 09-15-2005 12:22 AM

Dude, I KNOW I've got one from when I was a kid (well, more of a kid, anyways). It's way sturdier than the crap they make these days. I'll put an APB out on it with the fam, and I'll get back to you on its whereabouts as soon as I can locate it. It may be in hiding, as it is a wanted bat.

riverrat55 09-15-2005 06:45 AM

I have 2 bats of that type!!!
They are marked "Official wiffle ball bat" and under that they read
"made in the USA"!!! One has never been used and one is used!!!
Also, one has a rounded end while the other has a square end!!!

Canalman 09-15-2005 07:54 AM

PartsJay - I play on the Lawn Boys, we've placed in a few NEWA, WiffleUP and WTF tourneys as well as many others. I'd love to get a game in sometime :kewl:

Bob Thomas - Those are the new ones, wayyyy too flimsy.

BassBabe - If you have it still, I will take it in trade.

Riverrat - Same Thing.... I'll take them just tell me what you want in return.

Anyone else who finds one same deal :btu:

Thanks guys,
-Dave
