lost about 5 plugs to the evil toothed ones last night. i knew they were there so i started off using plugs i didnt care about... the last plug i lost was a beachmaster a-junior(the last one left in my bag) :crying:

I've been doing my best to train them not to bite lures while they are still young. Can they still bite off plugs with no mouths? Large black and brown german dogs with short tails like bluefish :devil:

At least that's the way Nebe would say it!!

Yep, that's exactly what I was gonna reply when I started to read this thread.

When that starts happening i switch over to wire leaders.

we pay attention also, but we don't reply to every and all threads concerning the disaster with some comment about Bush. maybe it was funny at first but it's old now, and besides didn't I just read in the news that he confessed, it's all his fault :)

wire leaders sometimes don't even help, lots of times another fish will bite you off right at the swivel even if it is black :wall: and then again sometimes they shake the crimp on the wire leader loose and you lose the fish and the plug :lossinit:

i was using wire.. damn thing were swiming around with thier mouths open or something. biting right through 60 lb power pro :lossinit:

All it takes is a little bit of seaweed dangling on the line. They see movement and snick! she's a gone. Think of all the lures you find when the blues are hot and heavy. Cut just above the leader, aren't they? Little bit of weed at the swivel. Chomp = gone!

There's a couple of south facing beaches on the Cape I love going to when it's low tide early in the morning , you wade out and find all kinds of lures , a lot of new ones, just like BBJ said , bitten off at the swivel.

I've seen it where the bite the swivel tie direct to leader no swivel.
They are the devil u see it more the bigger they get.

Forgot about that. When they are chomping @ everything in the water nothing helps.
