fish tailer gaff alternative
 

has anyone used the aftco fish tailer gaff alternative. The tailer slips over the tail and cinches down like a noose :shocked: . The cinching wire is coated wl plastic so as not to harm the fish and the entire thing is mounted to a 4' aluminum shaft. would like to try this off the jetty

Dont think it would work well on stripers; at least in my opinion...

tough to net a fish from behind not the recommended direction i imagine slippin one o thoese things on would be even tougher.U touch it's tail an its gone.
