Wadda ya think?

A couple of nights ago we got into big blues and bass wading off the north side. Around 11 (close to low) Mrstriper hooked up with schoolie, but when he got it to shore the fish was cut in half clean  . I have heard of tuna close to shore, but I also wonder about sharks. There are no seals in this area. Could a big blue do this?

Big blue could do it as could a shark easily do it...

Big blues will attack a struggling schoolie. Had it happen to me more than once. They'll also attack one that's released if it's worn down by the fight.

It's one of the reasons I don't really downsize my tackle for schoolies, and play them aggressively

Not sure where you were but I have seen seals in Barnstable Harbor this summer at night a few times. Scared the hell out of me late one night in my tin boat, surfaced right next to boat and let out a breath and I almost jumped out of the boat.

I'm pretty sure it wasen't a seal, I think I would have seen it. I'll tell my self that it was just a big blue........fish.

If you were where I think you were I'd bet it was a shark. I've heard tales of guys wading out and seeing fins go by between them and land. :err:

First of all...capesams,not such a funny idea...secondly,nothing ate my 42"/24 pounder sat night----except the lady at work begging for fish!!!!!last, why the hell does it always seem that we only get one nice fish at a time....does the hooked fish spook the others?????Oh yeah, capesams, not such a funny idea(did I already say that)

yellow darter,1 ounce...bright moon...tons of peanut bunker around,TONS...thousands of small fish breaking on them...and only one nice size fish...weird, but I'll take it :boots: :humpty: :wiggle: :hihi:  :jump: :uhuh:
