Front loop

What is the scoop with the size of the loop in the thru wire at the front of the lure, nose loop. What size do you prefer? Do certain lures need certain dia. ? I would think a swimmer would warrant a larger loop size for action purpose's more than a popper or needle or do they all need a good size loop. Seems everyone uses different size one's so thought I would ask for some reasoning behind the decision. Paul

Hey Paul--

i don't think the diameter of the loop has as much affect on the action as the size of the snap. But whatta i know. One thing i know for sure is the split ring affects the action and i take them off all my store bought stuff.
Get some pics of your woodies up on the board. I know u mentioned u were'nt happy with the paint, but the epoxy does miracles on the paint when cured.:D

Yep, me too. I use a 1/4" bit as my arbor when I bend the wire.

I use a phillips screwdriver for swimmers, I like a nice round bend and very circular. The best I've seen are beachmasters.
On my needles, they don't have to be perfect but capesams is correct, the softer the wire, the smaller the loop, also on softer wire I tend to make the tag end a bit longer.
