Need some folks in my corner...

Have an interview Wednesday AM. Trying to change jobs and it ain't easy at 53. Just a good thought is all I ask for. :hee:

BigFish 09-19-2005 05:25 PM

Be confident! Have a family member or relative go over some possible interview questions with you, so youre a bit more prepared. You'll do FANTASTIC! :kewl:

BigFish 09-19-2005 05:38 PM

Vic is right...here are a few.....

1: How long a lunch break would you like?

2: Is 6 weeks paid vacation going to be enough for you or should we make it 8?

3: For a company vehicle would the Hummer be good or would you prefer an F-350 extended cab diesel Ford?

:jump:

Squid kids Dad 09-19-2005 06:15 PM

I'd ask for the 8 weeks vaca to correspond with the fall run. And if so can it start immediately. ;)

Justfishin' 09-19-2005 08:10 PM

I know how you feel! After 30 years of working in residential construction and a tired back I've gone back to college to get up to speed with the electronic age. Don't fret, the kids may be fast at the keyboard but the knowlege gained through experience has a greater value.Present yourself with " I not only know how , I also know why" :btu:

Rappin Mikey 09-19-2005 08:31 PM

Good luck Fred. I know you are the best man for the job. Good things also happen to good people. So, if things don't work out there (but hopefully they do), it probably just means something better for you is just around the corner. :kewl:

Karl F 09-19-2005 08:34 PM

You got it Fred. Good thoughts your way, hope it is your dream job.

COCK YOUR HEAD (TILT)

A COUPLE OF TIMES LIKE A PUPPY DOG DOES ...

check your posture...and dont act to desperate
even if you are...for the job...
never lettem see you swet
if your nervous ...about a question
_and you need some time to think
say: i'll need a bit of time to
think about that question carefully

keep your chin up ..& be proud,
go gettum .......

Jimbo 09-20-2005 07:46 AM

Best of luck. What everyone else said, plus a firm handshake and good eye contact are things that make a first impression with your interviewers. Also, take along something to write with and write down people's names and significant facts when time allows, so if you need to contact them again you're not asking for "what'shisname".

Bass Babe 09-20-2005 10:30 AM

From one job-searcher to another -- go get em, boy!

ChrisH 09-20-2005 10:34 AM

Good luck Fred. Be positive and confident!

Chris

Saltheart 09-20-2005 10:56 AM

JohnR 09-20-2005 11:13 AM

Good luck dude - I'm not trying to change careers but I could use a new job....

Backbeach Jake 09-20-2005 03:49 PM

Thanks for the positive wishes. They help a lot. For those of you who don't know, I've been a bodyman for 35 years and it's way past time to get off the floor. I've had my appraiser's license for a while now and I've decided it's time to use it to make my living. Again thanks, the power of positive thought is very helpful.

Backbeach Jake 09-20-2005 03:52 PM

Oh yeah, BigFish! Should I take a couple of extra tall-boys for the interviewer or is he on his own? I'm not sure of the protocal here. :rollem: Thanks again, guys!
