fresh bait on the north shore?
Anyone know whos got some?////
|
Where are you planning to go? There are a lot of tackle shops on the north shore.
|
Lots of fresh herring around. Check the local plants in Gloucester. I know that the place near the Building Center got some yesterday. Another option would be to grab a sabiki rig and jig up some of the spike mackerel that are in the harbor. Good luck.

by the time you get out dealing with the BS at the airport the shops will be open ~5:00amish so you should be all set.

spin... do you think it is a sure thing?
I don't want to get all the way up there to get shut out.
|
Nothing is a sure thing. Best bet to try early. They open at 4:30AM. I do not know the numbe or I would share it with ya.

Johnny, I would try Al's Bait in Beverly, located on the beverly side of the Beverly/Salem bridge. He's going to have herring if anybody does.
|
Theres a place right on harbor loop road, i have always gotten bait from them. Their hrs are 430-930. I dont know the name of it but its not to hard to find. Its the 1st building on the right once you enter the road.
I also did this 2 weekends ago when i got there late. Look for a lobster boater loading bait and if you help them load bait they usually will let you take some. Hope this helps. |
Actually, I wouldn't try Al's bait. Al is both rude and
overpriced. Go to Pete's instead. |
