Ande backcountry
How are you guys that switched to BC ,liking it now that youve used it for a while? ALso anywhere in S.county or newport area have it in stock?
Thanks |
I wouldn't know...
PIEMMA HAS HAD MY FREAKING SPOOL FOR A MONTH NOW :call: -spence |
best line out there IMO, Have turned many guys on to it and they love the stuff, super strong, super abrasion resistance, exelent castability, I just love it !!
|
Chef:
I love it. Strong and no memory at all. It is a bit thicker than, say Big Game but I don't notice a big difference in casting distance. The fish are usually in th first curl anyway. BTW, I have it on a VS250 and a Calcutta 400. I had Big Bear Sporting Goods get it for me. It wa $43.99 for a 1lb spool. 2400 yards |
i buy mine on line at BP . great stuff !
|
Piemma, I suspected you shoppped there........nice people.
|
yes. Bev and George have always treated me great
|
piemma does big bear stock it or did they speical order it for you?
|
Craig:
Bev at Big Bear ordered it for me. |
Tried to get some today, said it was out of stock and being discontinued. Anyone else heard this?

Try fishermen's headquarters. 1 lb. spool around $28.00
|
Ande is a staple in many of the marina type shops down here by me.i thought big country was a color.I still think the big game has better abrasion resistence.from my experience usin em both toggin.
|
The Ande BC line is of type "floating" according to epinions.com and
Berkly has only one floating type which is the Berkly XL. The Berkly Big game is classified type "specialty". The reason why it never breaks off in the rocks is that it floats more then it sinks. |
Thanks for turning me onto BC, way better then BG
|
Anyone aware of any shops in the Boston/South Shore area carry Ande Backcountry?

|
 I wish I lived closer Pete!
Although I will be down at some point to check out the new location. |
I now use it full time this year.Started using it towards the end of last season at the suggestion off #^^^^^^& and Piemma. Its all I'll use now.
|
I started using it this year and found that it is abraison resistant and casts fairly well..

Bunch on Ebay...Bass Pro.... when you do search say Google input
Ande Back Country Fishing Line....found a bunch....got a good deal on eBay for 1# spools 20# and 25# test....and some Big Game 50# for leaders and maybe one monster spinning outfit for short distance heavy big lure fishing. |
I say the backcountry is no better or worse than big game. Actually tried knot strength test pulls(snelled to a hook), and the big game breaks at a higher strength 4 out of 5 times. I know a couple guys here like it and have hyped it a bit, but the difference is negligible to me. I've used big game since they started making the stuff in the mid to late 80's and have never had a bad thing to say about it, or an unexpected failure. People like to switch tackle alot and trick themselves into believing there are qualities that don't exist. I think this is one of those cases. Having said that, I like the backcountry alot, but don't see an advantage to using it over big game.
|
QL has it in many assorted poundages.

I have to admit.I got caught up in the hype. I had a fish break me off on the BC 20 lb sat night.I really don't think it is as abraision resistant as the big game.I gave it a try.One of these days i will learn to dance wit the one i brung.Yes I am guilty of the sheeple principle.Live an learn. |

Yeah but you gotta get some Penetrators.....swear to God!
Me to on the sheep thing....its why I have so much unused fishing stuff. |
