Daiwa Emblem Z-A
1 Attachment(s)
Whoe has first hand experience with one of these??? The look like a great plugging reel.....
The 5000 holds 310 yds. of 17lb.  http://www.daiwa.com/tackle/reels/sp...mza/index.html |
LOOKED AT THE SPECS AND THE PICTURE AND FEATURES LOOK GREAT,BUT THE WEIGHT IS KILLER 22OZ.I AM INCLINED TO LOOK AT LIGHTER WEIGHTS WITH GOOD LINE CAPACITY.THE PENN SLAMMERS HAVE LESS WEIGHT BUT I'M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING IN THE 14OZ RANGE.I HOPE TO SEE THE TICA'S AT ONE OF THE SHOWS TO FELL AND COMPARE THEM.TICA SA SERIES IS 14.8 OZ HOLDS 10/250 15/190 COST ABOUT $65 10 BALLBEARINGS.I HAVE YET TO SEE ONE THOUGH.
|
....am I the only guy who didn't know that "TICA" has been manufacturing reels since 1965!!!....
..Apparently they just recently got their "GREEN CARD"....and have entered the U.S. :D |
I UNDERSTAND THE TICA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THE SHIMANO REELS.THE SA SERIES REELS ABOUT $65 ARE SUPPOSED TO COMPARE TO THE SHIMANO SUSTAIN AT $230 EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE DIFFERENT SPECS.FOR THE PRICE THEY SEEM TO BE GOOD FROM REPORTS I HAVE READ ON ANOTHER SITE.AS I SAID BEFORE I HAVE YET TO SEE ONE OR KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS ONE.

out of the 3 sizes all the bodies are the same. 4500,5000,5500 they just change the inside depth of the spool to gain more line.

A reels weight and size has no impact on my fishing(as long as its matched to the correct rod) The Emblem-Z 5000A IS the best pluggin reel money can be. If you don't think so you haven't casted or fished with one. The Emblem series are a joy to fish with I also have the Emblem-X 5000T which has given me 3 faithful years of service with no problems. I would have kept it longer if it wasn't for the Z-A model.

that reellikes a 70 for a collecting guide
|
only problem i have ever had with any diawa spinning reel is the metal they use on the base and support for the reel. if you accidently drop it it tends to break rather easily and then becomes a parts reel. as long as you treat itright it will serve you well. been using diawa reels fora good 15 years and still use them as often as i can. i wouldn't hesitate to buy another

Ant, which rod you have that thing strapped too???
Thinking of the Arra 1204 |
use 1204 like i got and make sure ya use a 70 stripper.
I seen that reel in action and it hates small guides |
1204 two piece, 1205 one???
|
I have it on a Custom E-Glass (pac bay) 9ft rod nothing special 1-3oz Loads the cast reel nice great action for fighting fish and working plugs. I have fuji #50's on the bottom seems to work good but I don't think a larger guide will hurt :)
If you got the cash go with a XRA rod from Lami. IT will put you back $300 but as they say you get what you pay for :) |
<cringe>diawa???
ooohh...lami arra... |
Tattoo , The one piece Like I have . I have the ron arra specs for the guides if Ya need it. (spacing and size)
didnt U cast Mine ? I cant remember. It is set up Via His specs. That reel on that rod will scream Dude.....:D |
