hahahahha we had two dumb bastids mug us at the butt crack of dawn. Its pitch black Im running blacked out... I forgot the pull the ebrake thing and yup bout 200 yds out.. they trow it in park.. beams lights watchin us.. Jigz had his plugs in a backpack, so he leans over to switch plugs instantly, (hes about 50 yds to my right) instantly hes got a new best friend, and i go to cast and almost scalp this dude he got soo close, I went to the truck and strapped my dive knife in place :D ...... They freakin came up like ninjas! outta no where no lights, the fook?

Karl F 10-08-2005 03:22 PM

Monday Night... miles of empty beach, truck appears right behind mine, two run down and start casting over me... they don't say nothing, I don't either, I grunt and head up to the truck... look around, nobody to be seen either direction... WTF... Green suburban Tahoe thing, with massive cooler rod rack, ny tags and their club sticker... I start ulp the truck spin around and High Beamed/Fog lighted, them real good over the berm... one hollers "Mother f****er"... I yelled back... "No, I don't think so, 'cause if I did do that, you'da had the sense not to mug another guy fishin!"... I told him I got his plate # and sticker #, and was gonna hang on to it... backed up, lights off, and drove away... keepin an eye in my rearview. :D.... they stayed put....

Heard they did the same thing to another local, who kinda did the same thing... he highbeamed them then yelled, "Just wanted to make sure you had enuf room you ignorant arragant ny bastage!"

Spot Jumpers... and some folks still don't get it... to me No Different than looking in somebodys truck, or cooler without asking to see how they are doing.... but, some still don't get it... I agree, NJ'rs seem to be more respectful, from what I've seen lately. They are here, but do their own looking.
Me, I'm stuck in Rhody for 2 days with no fishing gear... being a good son-in-law :D

Hey Karl,
Mayby its time one of us rigged-up an old wrangler with one of those bars that have a series of search lights, and some speakers to blast-out, Frances Albert's rendition of " I Love New York". What a bunch of sux arse losers.

Flaptail 10-09-2005 11:37 AM

:smokin: Post this on Striper-Surf.com in Frank Daignault's forum and see what happens. He had me drawn and quartered. I know some New Yorkers and they are pretty good guys but there is a bunch from a club. All decked out, latest rigs like a silver 4-wheel ford van. a white ford explorer and a couple other trucks, Travel together and see a local in a hole jump yer ass fater than you can say boo. Me and LaPorte had 'em jump us one night at Htaches. Had to be twelve of them. We had fish in front of us in two feet of water and they just walked right around us after watching for ten minutes. I got so mad I cast across two of them and ripped ones rod from his hands. He got it back after turning on his head lamp to find it, I was so ripped I wenmt over to the other ten and challenged them right there. They never said a word and just walked away. I left a note with my name and address and told them where they could find me next morning, They never showed. That group and the green truck is one of the bunch are a bunch of %$%$%$%$%$%$%$s.

Frank defended them to the hilt and I plainly stated my case, still their his audience now, so.........

:

I heard that same thing yesterday

pretty sad when spot jumpers wreck your fishing

There are some real nice NY'ers I have met out on the beach, it's too bad those spot jumpers give NY a bad rap.

[QUOTE=beachwalker]the friggin rigs these people drive. what a circus... hehe

Spot jumping, mugging and all that... definately NOT good. Common courtesy and observing proper etiquette is MUCH preferred. But to judge people on the kind of vehicle they drive? Is it too old? Is it too new? Is it because it is not a "classic-type" SS? I'm not sure I understand. Enlighten me please.

bassmaster 10-12-2005 11:07 AM

i drive a barbie vehicle and now im left alone sorta

NIB 10-14-2005 07:48 AM

Its to bad really if they played it cool like i do They would find the locals to be pretty helpfull.Momma always said" u get more bee's wit honey"(well she didn't really say that)..I wouldn't even wanna drive by someone on the beach fishin (somtimes its neccesarry) I would never wanna be one of those guys...never mind jump out an mug em.NJ is awfull.there are no rules no respect nothin,Like driven in a parkin lot.. My friend an I have a sayin "Duck or Bleed" MF...More than likley if they are catchin they are in "the" spot.so castin off to the side of em is kinda futile.there's plenty o bars to fish on the cape the fish come in waves.just put ur time in they will come.Fisheman are just a little sample of society not everyone is considerate or intelligent.I don't drive the beach But i fish a area where trucks can do that down here I hate it.Constantly fighting a fish like i have nothing on to ward off the jumpers.I like it much better where a good walk is involved.I find it less crowded.

NIB 10-14-2005 07:58 AM

I pretty much hate all fisherman learned my lessonnthe hard way.a few yrs ago i had a gem nice fish park the truck an get out an fish.During a tournament (a club thing between several nj clubs for most bass #'s which I do not really partake in any more because of this) After a few 20's I called a friend to inform him of the good bite.well he moved in there after that. Now its a pretty visable site. i would always stop fishin if someone came up not to give up my hand.Well he was not so smart.Well u guessed it its not even fishable anymore everytime I go there there four or five guys doin what i showed him.A heard a someone got one in the 30's the other day.It just got me all steamed up again.I hate people an will only fish where i will not find another sole I don't care if i don't catch.I will never give any thing up again.its terrible.BM ifeel ur pain.

John E 10-14-2005 08:35 AM

It's hard to imagine that guys will drive all that way just to mug you. They have no shame and you gave them their "just rewards". They did it to me several times this year over schoolies. Heck, I even got mugged on a particuallry slow night at the end of the summer when I only dropped a small fish. People have no shame. Almost embarrased to say I'm from NY. PM me the club name. If it's the guys I work with I'll be sure to give them a big steaming pile of !@#$ for ya'.

Raven 10-14-2005 08:39 AM

in total agreement

As posted by NIB: will only fish where i will not find another soul. :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel the same way NIB,.... and when i finally get a decent boat...i'll spend the whole time looking for a that kind of spot .....via boat ..then Anchor....get out and surf fish
under those same conditions.

Its not always about catching....
it's about feeling ONE with the Ocean....
seeking the "PURE" experience.

bassmaster 10-14-2005 02:58 PM

NibuLa, its all in how they show respect, ifems theres a guy watchin me and fishing far enuff away, i will call him over.
get this i was at the canal and taklked a guy into fish
(got him off chunks and on to a popper and then how to work it.
i still think the net sucks

NIB 10-14-2005 09:10 PM

Thats how I am I have also done the same thing got a kid a 25 lber in the spring.his old man was in awe someone would be so nice.it is all about respect an the ones without it are punks who never learned it. I learned the hard way some are givin things there whole lives an don't have to work for anything so why should it be any different with fish.John from what i have heard an understand.I would highly doubt its one of the farragut club members.
