Yes - best Free I've used is at GRISOFT.com - probably the most popular for 32bit Windblows. I just installed XP64 and they don't have a free one so I had to get avast for my new PC

John states it right.

AVG 7.0 by Grisoft works great.

bassmaster 10-13-2005 05:30 PM

forgot the cmds fpr windows splash screen and sound when booting up
want to put other mach in raid 1 eventually
i just oc'd my cards last night and then backed them off
i think im going to go water cooled next year and oc my proc

asus oc'ing utility will let me go to 5% but i need to do it manually well need to learn.
i got this up to the speed of the fx 57 ( 2.8 ) John but right now I have the proc back at stock this chip maxes out @3.4 thats insane for a 64 bit chip

THANKS JOHN,
I had that on my pc but it only worked for 30 days . I deleted it and down loaded it again and it was a no go. Must have left someting inside the first time?

bm...your a computer geek ?

JohnR 10-14-2005 02:18 PM

VB - go to this page and get it: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1or here: http://majorgeeks.com/downloads29.html and lookup the free version

BM - no raid as I can't afford all the drives I want but I do have a couple SCSI Raid Controllers that I might put into an array :)

I do use the ASUS NOS a little but haven't played much with it. I need to trreat my machine nicely as it is a production machine. I don't want to reload the OS and apps any more than twice per year. And them, preferably only in winter (not in fishing season).

I've been OC'ing since early pentiums and celerys :) but just don't want to burn more systems///

:bl2: :bl2: :rotfl: :rotf3: - almost spit the coffee all over the notebook!

Thanks for the tip on the free AV software. I think I had tried to download Avast AV software, but could not find the freeware version about 1.5 months ago.

No, he is a geek, not a professional geek like me, but a geek. Geeks are far more normal than nerds - besides, nerds have all of their teeth :tooth:

It's there now as it is the only one I found so far that supports 64bit XP
