Anyone ever take one of these apart.Mine has a hard spot like every 10- 20 revs. of the handle.Dont hear no gringing ,just real hard to turn ,but then it goes past that spot and its good for another 10-20 cranks ...Tried to take the boot off but it would not come off easy and I didnt want to rip it.Just dont want to junk this cause its been good for 2+ yrs to me

Milo, I think there's 2 screws that hold the foot onto the reel body if I'm not mistaken. Take those out and boot should come right off I think? :conf: If you feel a binding in there, I can almost assure you that it's them main gear going bad. Walk down to Bucko's and get the parts

I had that happen to the yellow one - same size i think. mine was every 7 turns of the handle. after awhile it stopped, but now i have a slight grinding of the gears.

I also went through 2 of the smaller black ones this year, the gears must be made of play-doh.....maybe silly putty.
