A 35# fish a friend of mine caught recently from shore in Newport had a 20" striper in it's belly that had it's tail clearly cut off by a bluefish.

Despite that it still felt the need to eat a Tattoo Deep Diver. Maybe it's time for a new "Baitfish" Series from Tattoo? Schoolie Striper Deep Diver?

Off of Newport it's VERY common to see BIG fish come up from the bottom when landing a smaller fish from the boat. There's no question stripers will eat other stripers, I guess it's just a question as to how often it happens.

If the american eel is in tough shape and we can't get as many, mabey conger eels are the way to go. The bigger the better!!
