weights and through wires?

I was drilling and putting my weight in a couple of my plugs last night and ran into a slight problem. The through hole runs through were I want the weight to go. In thin plugs, like needles, how can this be avoided? Thanks PB

insert lead and then re-drill through it.

Be careful doing that...sometimes the lead can pop out...

How about using more but smaller weights that don't reach the thru wire, or melt the lead and pour it into the weight holes after the plug is wired.

I've run a thicker wire thru the plug, poured the lead and then extracted the wire (Leaving lead with holes for the wire to pass thru. Then paint it and wire it and the smaller diameter wire goes thru the holes from the larger wire pretty easily..

Depending on the Application you can also use tail weights....they have holes pre-drilled. Also I've taken the weights when I've run into that problem and flattened them a little with my vice.....you just have to adjust the weight hole a little
