Real nice work -- how heavy ? size? Does the acrylic turn Ok? Heat building up when spinning?? :claps:

libassboy 11-10-2005 11:56 PM

They look great!! :btu:

ProfessorM 11-11-2005 11:16 AM

Ahhh yes heat is definately the issue when working with it. I personally don't use a lathe, All work is don on sanders. Definatly have to work cool and rather than sanding on down stroke on bench, you need to do it up so it drags the hot material away from it.

The weight is about 2.5 on the large yellow, 2.2 on the Red and same on the blue. Stuff is beautiful when done :) Who know's where we'll go next ???? :eyes:

Geesh Armand!

That Black one is a Beauty!...

Have any extras you wanna have field tested?...

RI Popper 11-11-2005 06:17 PM

Don I would let you use one, but It would endanger the fish population too much, D.E.M has asked me to keep them under wraps :bl: :bl:

Actually, calamari is squid prepared as food. I'm assuming you don't mean to throw the purple plug at the Union Station Brewpub...while they have great calamari, you might get removed before it arrives :bl:

Well here's the red completed with crimped poli-hair tail hook

dickmont 11-23-2005 11:35 AM

very, very nice. almost too pretty to throw into the ocean with all the toothy critters in it. i'm curious how you polish off the sanding-grinding abrasions. you have a polished finish on them almost as though they were molded that way.

RI Popper 11-23-2005 11:52 AM

Well I use wet sanding in drop down from corse to fine grit. Then end up polishing on a Buffing wheel with Jeweler's rouge. :conf:
