How to get envirotex smooth

My first few plugs came out OK but I can't seem to get the envirotex on smoothly. I turn it with a homemade jig using the same type of motor that I turn my fishing rods on and they come out smooth so I know it must be something I'm doing wrong with they way I apply it. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Make sure the plugs are clean . Try placing the epoxy in warm water , it made a huge differance for me .

I also used a small rod turning motor. I put a single coat hanger wire off of the center pin, it works great. I apply the envirotex lite with a paint brush as even as I can while it is spinning. Good Luck!
