Heh. Context please. Clip #1 with Albright is lifted from a speech in which she (and others) state that war would be an unwanted and last resort. Definitely not "the Democrats wanting the war with Iraq". At the time the gov't was pushing hard for unrestricted inspections in Iraq, NOT "wanting war". There's a big difference between considering military operations IF sanctions should fail and wanting war. And it's from 7 years ago along with half of the other quotes? I'm pretty sure intel on Iraq has changed since then. Iraq may well have had WMD at that point. Way to spin a quote GOP. No wonder the president is considered un-trustworthy by almost a majority of the nation (according to a recent poll by the Washinton Post). I don't feel like researching the others but considering the spin on clip #1 I'm sure there's some more. Plus it's ON THE GOP's website. What do you expect them to say?
Don't listen to 60 second clips put out by ANY group, left or right, that may have an agenda. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I "Trust no One". I don't believe anything from anyone. Don't trust me either, I distrust everyone so maybe I have an agenda... Everyone should do their own homework. Here's a tip for when ANY party or group feeds you a quote: www.google.com Putting "Iraq is a long way from Ohio" into Google gets you a bunch of responses and the 4th one down is a transcript. It'll remind you of how the gov't REALLY felt at that time. War was an unwanted last resort, they were pushing sanctions. http://www.fas.org/news/iraq/1998/02...22006_tpo.html <--- great website, BTW. Here's a piece from the Town Hall meeting transcript I found interesting: "Now, others suggest that such Saddam is the problem, the only effective solution is a ground invasion that would remove him from power. The costs and risks of that course of action, in our judgment, are too high and not essential to achieving our strategic interests as a nation containing the threat Iraq now poses. It would require a major land campaign, and risk large losses of our soldiers. We do not support that option." - National Security Advisor Sandy Berger, Clinton Administration You can find that in the transcript if you want to make sure it's not out of context. SO, bottom line is the GOP, to support the claim the Democrats are "dishonest" , is using a quote from 7 years ago from a Clinton administration pushing hard for sanctions and inspections that viewed war as a last resort which would only be taken with support from the UN Security Council and other nations, and even then without a land invasion. I'm %$^&*% sick of spin from ALL parties and persuasions. F' Democrats and Republicans, bring back our Constitution, think globally (because being isolationist and operating unilaterally is retarded), free your mind from the spin of our governing parties, and I think that's it for this rant. I wish I had a good closing statement like "God Bless America" to show that I love this nation, but I can't use that because religion should stay the hell out of the gov't. That's a whole other topic I'd go into but then you'd really see me fly off the handle. I'm going fishing. :rocketem: Everyone's lucky I haven't had a few beers or I'd REALLY tell you how I feel about it. ---- "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President-or that we are to stand by the President right or wrong-is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is mortally treasonable to the American public." -Theodore Roosevelt |

Why did Clinton launch Air Strikes on Iraq during his time in office and said many times that Iraq had and would use WMD's? There are so many great quotes of the libs before Bush even came to office on how Saddam was a great threat to us and how he had WMD and would use them. Wonder why the media never talks about that? Can you say Bias? Now that they see the public is growing against the war they are going that way too. A bunch of %$%$%$%$ing hypacrytes is all they are. Pussies all of them. Americans dont retreat we kick %$%$%$%$ing ass. We accually need to start kicking more ass over there. Get the freakin media outta there and fight a non PC war. Im sick of CNN and how happy they are to report another american dead in Iraq. Becuase its fits there agenda that we should not be in Iraq they capilize on the death and run with it. They freakin suck. Yeah lets tell the enemy when we are leaving...Yeah thats a smart idea you libs. Are they really that dumb? I meen they cant be that stupid. Both Reps and Dems are starting to piss me off to be honest. They both need to shut the %$%$%$%$ up and let our military do what needs to be done. If the Generals say we still need to be there then we need to be there. If they say its time to go and our job is done then we go. Ted Kennedy and John Kerry should not tell our troops what to do. The Generals know whats up and i will go with what they say.
Right now all politicians officially suck in my mind. Im sick of the arguring. Its sending our troops a bad freaking message. |
Wow i just dropped some major F bombs in my last rant. And not one of them was towards Nebe or Spence :rotf2: Winter is offically here!! :rotf3:
