They cast a country mile, but

I found the reel to be too high maintenance for sustained use.

high maintainence in what way? bearing cleanings? ???

If you drop it in the sand just once, it's toast!

Also, it needed frequent cleaning.

I would recommend stuffing it with blue grease, if not for anything else, but to keep the inside impervious to the saltwater, and the sand out of the gears.

I got a european model tricked out, and much preferred using my Ambassaduer Mag Elite...

That was of course until PNG converted me over to Spinning Reels! :happy:

I still use conventional gear though, when tossing heavier offerings.
