i know its a little early for this but when do the upper cape/plymouth ponds get a 6inch coat of ice?.i have not done ice fishing for awhile and want to get back into it.

January 1st or so. Watch out for thin spots where springs are flowing underneath the ice and bring an ice pick or 2 so if you do break the ice, you can pull yourself up (and a change of warm clothes).

i decided my last day fishing liquid water was yesterday, just too much ice on my guides. so its going to be about a month. north freezes sooner. dont go walking out on ice without doing test holes, january whatever, it can always not be safe.

i cant wait. it is nice having this little bit of a break from fishing right around finals.
