Hindged experiment

Ok, after seeing some other hinged plugs I couldn't resist the temptation to try one. Made this body last night using a bandsaw and bely sander. It's a BIGGUN and probably not castable.

Length: 11 inches
Weight: 5.7oz (naked)
Wood: Walnut

Now all I have to do is figure out how to drill the holes without messing them up

I dunno. There's a guy out west who makes huge trout plugs for fishing for trophy Large Mouthed Bass. Could be initeresting....

Ok, decided to throw some paint on my "experiment". Overall length including tail is 15 inches. Still need to cut a lip and epoxy.

That's a mother of a plug.

When everybody else is throwing 4 ounce jigs into big jetty current, lay her into the rip and crank!

That is awesome! Can't wait to hear what you do for a lip and how it swims! I keep thinking pogie plug...
