Sealing time

How long does everybody keep the plug body in the linseed/turps ?
Are the times dfifferent for softer wood versus hardwood? How long before painting?

I'm new at this but I let them sit in boiled linseed oil for 5minutes. I rotate the empty jar of wood biscuits that I have them in to make sure the oil covers it all. Then I let them dry for a week before priming. The link below has quite a good discussion on this.

I keep mine submerged in 60/40 Boiled linseed and mineral spirits for approx. 1 minute. I hang to dry for 48 to 72 hours. Works good for me!

FYI, To the guys reading this... if your using Val oil, you should soak them for hours not minutes. especially hardwoods.
