Looking at new toys...

...or I mean new tools for hand carves. I was searching on the net and found a couple of sanding drums that caught my eye. I'm wondering anyone used these or others for their hand carves. Looks at they would be pretty nifty to work with.
Thanks - Pete

Those look really interesting! I been using a little drum on my hand drill. Very slow and not particularly precise.

Cool toys

And the price looks good, too.

I was in Sears Hardware in Fairhaven and they are selling out at half price all of thier sanding drums and sleeves. These are for thier oscillating sander. The rubber drum has a 1/2" hole so I put in a piece of threaded rod and two washers. When you sock it up the rubber expands, thus grasping the sleeve. For $23 I got 3/4", 1", 2", and 3" drums and sleeves. You can chuck these in your drill press or lathe on slow speed.
