West Palm Beach fishing question

Got a friend who is moving to West Palm Beach. Has a 22' Boston Whaler and plans to do some off shore fishing. Of course, he asks me what he can expect to catch and what he should use for tackle, plugs, etc. when he's out three miles working the edge of the Gulf Stream. As if I know.... Having never been there.... Anyb ody have thoughts or suggestions I can pass on?

JR, if this needs to be moved to another board, feel free to do so. I wasn't sure where to post.

I fished with Tony Risso last year out of Riviera beach right next to West palm. 2 miles off short we were into sails all morning.

flew kits with live Blue Runners. 7 Sails up to 70 # from 6 to 11 AM. Never out of site of the shoreline.
