Lip Grip?

Has anybody ever tried this. I'm looking for something to use while deep wading and don't want something as big (or expensive) as a boca or berkley lip grip, plus I don't really feel like I need a scale. Thanks for any input.

You could probably get a good grip on Scott with that when we're pulling him out of the water or when he's getting pulled into water over his head because his drags too tight again.
