Thanks guys. Im trying to get myself back to basics with the yellow and blue plug. Sometimes its easy to get caught up in the fancy-smancy paint schemes.
Question...why dont larger pics come up when I click on my thumbnails like everyone esles? What did I do wrong? |
pretty cool uki!

I'm likin' that blue over pearl danny. Your right about the paint schemes.
I'm trying to do the same, basic, classic colors. But it's still fun to fancy 'em up! Nicely done |

Absolutely the best fish catching colors are the most boring to paint. |
Did you do these with the airbrush? If so what colors did you use to get that nice olive green??? Love that color on needles!
|
nice...:uhuh:
your pics are too small. make them 800x800 |
Striperhound, that color is a Pearlex pigment called green/yellow. Its a powder I mix in with some waterbased clear. Basically I primed white then shot pearlwhite. Black goes down the back fading down the sides then the green/yellow pearlex. I fade the black "under" the green, it seems the green doesnt have any depth if you dont have black as a base coat. You have to play with the amount of pigment. Hope that helps.
I will try to resize the pics and repost them. |

Looks like that worked, heres bigger pics of the Danny. The sides are pearlex silver, belly pearlex white.

Simple beauty, I love it. Nice work. The subtle blue danny is looking really sweet. That will catch for sure.
